Carnival Line Up

The West Point Crab Carnival is a fun-filled family event that draws thousands of people to to the Town of West Point! It is held every year the first weekend in October, and admission is FREE. Friday night activities include the children's bike race, food vendors, band performance, and fireworks. Saturday events include arts/crafts vendors, Crab Carnival Parade, band performances, food vendors, and more.
STAFF ASSISTANCE - If you are lost, confused, or just want to know more about something, grab any friendly Crab Carnival staff person (in the bright aqua Crab Carnival T-shirt printed with “Staff”).
BABY CHANGING - Located at the United Methodist Church and St. John's Episcopal Churches.
INFORMATION BOOTH - The Information Booth at 9th and Main is a great central meeting place. The booth also provides lost and found and maps.
PARKING LOTS - WestRock parking lot at 18th and Main is available to the public for $5.00 (subject to change).
SHUTTLE BUS - Free Shuttle Bus service is available from 8 am—6 pm from the parking lot at 18th and Main. The bus travels down Main Street to the United Methodist Church at 11th Street.
FIRST AID - The outstanding West Point Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad provides first aid on call throughout the event.
DISABLED VISITOR PARKING - located on 9th Street between Main and Lee Streets. Overflow at Town Hall on 6th Street. Bay Transit will provide free shuttle service to and from the event.
T-SHIRT SALES - Official Crab Carnival T-Shirts are sold at the Information Booth at Main and 9th Streets.
Friday, October 2nd
TOUR DE CRAB - 5 pm - Children race their bikes in one of four races for different ages and genders then parade down Main Street. Registration begins at 4 pm and the registration fee $5.00.
ENTERTAINMENT - 6-10 pm - Town Square Stage - fun for the entire family! Live music by Sweet Justice. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of West Point.
TOUCH-A-TRUCK - 6-8 pm - Join us for an interactive display that allows kids of all ages to get up close and personal with many different types of vehicles.
REFRESHMENTS - 6-10 pm - Food of all varieties, including seafood, hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream. Beer and wine is available within the beer garden.
FIREWORKS - 9pm - Zambelli Fireworks fill the sky above 4th Street over the Pamunkey River (There is no set viewing area for fireworks, so please be respectful of private property.).

PARADE - 1 pm - Along Main Street between 1st and 10th Streets- Grand Marshal Becky Massey, antique and classic vehicles, marching bands and more.
